Canon Printer Tips – Help !!! My printer only prints red ink,?

February 18th, 2010 No comments

it was printing in only green pictures before so i replaced the ink and now it only prints the pictures in red oooo and i got a Cannon i560s

Best Answer: Yep the other colors seem to have run out. You can get new cartridges from http://www.BriteChoice.com and try them out. If the replacement of the cartridges does not help, you could have a carriage problem and will need service by an Canon authorized service center. Note: Anytime you have an image defect, this goes for anyone reading this…check your cartridge (s) first.
I hope this helps.

  • yes now the other colours have run out ….
run the printer’s own Test Page to double check this; there should be a printer maintenance section in the software that came with the printer.

then run a Head Clean as well;the other colours might still have ink in them but the heads got clogged up.

hey MAGZY where can u get a colour laser printer for $90???? I wanna know so I can get one

  • get another printer and stop wasting money on ink cartridges
lazer printers are cheap now a days and are the price of 3 ink cartridges
  • Please replace the cartridge with original

Canon Printer Tips – So did I totally mess up my printer?

It’s a cannon Pixma MP210

I removed the ink cartridge for a couple of days while I went around trying to see if anyone could refill it.

After I replaced the ink cartridge it didn’t work, so I read the directions. It says don’t leave it dry or with out a cartridge as that may cause it to dry out or get gummed up.

It only had a 90 day warranty on it, and Cannon wants to charge me 10 bucks to get on with tech support. No way man.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to de-gunk the head on the ink cartridge?

They are on sale at Wal-mart for only 30 bucks now but if I can clean it myself and save the money I would prefer to do that. What do I have to loose? It already doesn’t work?
Any help is appreciated.

Best Answer: Get some rubbing alcohol and Q-tips. Wet the Q-tip slightly and rub the print head with it. Do this 3 or 4 times with a clean Q_tip each time. Then run the “clean print heads” option on your printer properties.

  • Run a couple print head cleanings, it will be fine.

You manual will tell you how to do this.

So not put alcohol on a q-tip and touch the printer head as for 1. your print head is a prt of the printer that will absolutely ruin it.

    2. the cotton from the q-tip will make the problem worse

    3. after only a couple days the manufacturer cleaning tool will do the trick.

Canon Printer Tips – Which printer is better?

    February 17th, 2010 No comments

    HP,Cannon,Epson,Brothers

Best Answer: I love my Epson Stylus Photo RX620, available direct from Epson for $129.99. It’s also an EXCELLENT flat bed scanner. I’ve owned one HP and one Canon and one other not worth mentioning prior to this and, although the others were supposed to be “photo” printers, there is little basis for comparison.

    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consu…

They have a new generation of “Ultra High Definition” printers that are supposed to blow MINE out of the water. All I can say is, they must be good if they are better than this one, as I am not interested in replacing it at all. They are showing 3 models – ALL for under $200!

    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/Landi…

The R260 must be the new version of OMG’s R200, so it would be a GREAT buy for $79.99. If you don’t want a scanner, I’d suggest the “mid-line” R380, which has an LCD display and a built-in card reader for $139.99.

The RX580 is also a flatbed scanner for $179.99.

    • Sorry, these are companies not printers. High end printer or low end printer? Laser or inkjet? For photos or text? Archival photo quality or not? Large output or small output? Can’t do much with a question like this.
    • depends on what you would use it for i like HP and Epson. i use the HP for everything at the office.
    • What will you mostly do with this printer. For printing mostly photos, I would go with the Epson. I would also choose a model that have “individual” ink cartridges as it is cheaper to replace. The Epson Stylus Photo R220 is the cheapest of the bunch but very acceptable.

If you want to use it as an all-around printer with sporadic photos, then I would go with a HP. But again make sure that it has individual ink cartridges. The HP Photosmart C5180 All-in-One is a good choice as it even allows you to scan a document.

I can not recommed either the Canon or the Brothers.

    • Canon – only the ones with seperate ink tanks
    • Canon & epson are better for photographs, hp & brother are work horses for offices.
for pictures i prefer my epson r340 and you can even print on dvd labels and the cartridges are cheap online
    • Most small Canon printers have twice the resolution of the HP.

Canon Printer Tips – Printer will not print?

    February 16th, 2010 No comments

My Cannon i470D will not print anything. I have changed the ink, I have done nothing different to my pc. It just stopped printing. Help. :) :):)

    Best Answer: try this:
1.switch on the printer and see if any warnings are displayed.like catridge not present or paper not present or some door getting jammed.
2.see if the conection between the printer and the pc is proper.
3.see if the driver is properly installed, reinstall if necessary.take a test printout from the printer setttings window.
3.restart the computer if nothing works.sometimes it helps.
4.call a technician if the all above fails

    • 3 possible answer.
      1) catridge prob
      2) driver software prob
      3) printer not conected to computer
    • did your PC said…..New hardware found? if not run the CD again.
    • try turning the printer off and back on(rebooting). Then make sure it’s still plugged into your computer. Finally, go to your printers properties and make sure the correct port is selected(ltp1 or usb)
    • reinstall the driver
    • Check it with a qualified Cannon Service Engineer. He will assist you to make it properly working.

I doubt your ’selection’ in the printer icon with a tick might have vanished. Check and correct it again, right from the beginning. Don’t meddle with any of the parts in the Printer hardware with any sharp tools.

    • OK
    • Disconnect everything, plug everything back in….Rerun your disc…. be sure to reinstall… See if this works….Otherwise you have to contact Cannon. I am sure there is a 800 number somewhere on the handbook or machine……
    • There is a printer icon on your screen click it
