Cannon Printers

My Cannon i470D will not print anything. I have changed the ink, I have done nothing different to my pc. It just stopped printing. Help. :):)

1.switch on the printer and see if any warnings are displayed.like catridge not present or paper not present or some door getting jammed.
2.see if the conection between the printer and the pc is proper.
3.see if the driver is properly installed, reinstall if necessary.take a test printout from the printer setttings window.
3.restart the computer if nothing works.sometimes it helps.
4.call a technician if the all above fails

• did your PC said…..New hardware found? if not run the CD again.
• try turning the printer off and back on(rebooting). Then make sure it’s still plugged into your computer. Finally, go to your printers properties and make sure the correct port is selected(ltp1 or usb)
• reinstall the driver
• Check it with a qualified Cannon Service Engineer. He will assist you to make it properly working.

  I doubt your ’selection’ in the printer icon with a tick might have vanished. Check and correct it again, right from the beginning. Don’t meddle with any of the parts in the Printer hardware with any sharp tools.

• Disconnect everything, plug everything back in….Rerun your disc…. be sure to reinstall… See if this works….Otherwise you have to contact Cannon. I am sure there is a 800 number somewhere on the handbook or machine……

ok i have a Cannon MX300 and my color ink ran out and i only have black ink. I want to print out one sheet for school so i only need black ink.

I changed my settings to where my printer is only supposed to use the black ink cartridge, but whenever i try to print it says i ran out of color ink and i need more. I’m really confused can anybody help me?

Best Answer: You need all cartridges to operate your machine, they are set up to mix all the color and the black (gray scale) to mix together to create true black.
Only if you tell the machine to print gray scale to print from the black cartridge only, but you will need to have both cartridge in.

I own a Cannon Powershot and would like to be able to print out pictures for scrapbooking. So I need a printer that is cost effective to operate ie, paper and ink are reasonable. Thanks!!

I was given a Cannon MP470 printer when I purchased my computer. The printer prints horrible pictures and I am in the process of talking with Cannon about getting a replacement. In the mean time I have been considering purchasing another. I want a printer that prints decent pictures and has paper slots so I do no have to change out paper all the time. I also need an All-in-one. I have been recommended HP and EPSON printers. I do not want to spend more than $200 and would like for it to be around $150. I have narrowed my such so far to the HP Photosmart C5580, Epson Artisan 700, and the Epson Stylus Photo RX680. If anyone could help me narrow my choice down that would be greatly appreciated. Best Answer: HP makes the best printers period. The HP Photosmart C5580 is a good choice.

• If you are looking for a cheap all in one printer then the HP F4235 is a good buy. I just bought one at Sam’s for $40 with ink included. Walmart sells the ink HP60 for about $15 for the black. I have read about 30 reviews on this printer and they all give it 4-5 stars. Now days there is no reason to spend big money for printers unless you want it for maybe a business or much more special applications. It will print-scan and copy, if you want fax they also have an epson for about $60.
  You will need your usb cable from your other printer as it is not included but you can get one for about $10 at wal-mart. To save on your color ink you can even tell it to just print in black and only go back to color when you need it. It uses hp60 cartridge.
