Canon Printer Tips – Please help !!!?

January 31st, 2010 No comments

okay alon with my new laptop I also bought a new printer which is a cannon I’ve been trying to put in the ink cartidges but they won’t go in they seem too small for the opening what do I do >>>

Best Answer: The cartridge should be labeled, make sure it is the right one, mistakes can happen when they pack the boxes.
Assuming you have the correct cartridge for the printer, you insert them at an angle. Put the front end in first, then rotate toward the back of the holder. Should seat right into the holder.
Did they fail to pack a manual with the printer? It should show you this.

  • cool
  • Check to make sure that they are the right type of cartridge and also look in your instruction manual.

I have a cannon printer it was working perfectly , once i connected my printer and i got that error message(suddenly) i tried to reinstall form the installation CD of the printer but nothing changes

My PC Description:
Portable(LabTop) TOSHIBA
Intel Inside,Centrino,1.8 processor
System:Xp Home Edition SP2

Best Answer: You’ve probably already tried this, but just in case, disconnect and turn off the printer. Reboot, then turn on the printer, then plug into the USB. The PC ought to detect it.
Good luck.

  • Have a look into the USB Driver / System…

This error can be produced by various methods, Such things as long cables / low power supply from cable.

One of the common ones is the driver becomes corrupt and will require been re-installed again… But does not always work..

If that does not do it then you will need to start to google it & find out about the registry settings that will force windows to reload / re-find it’s usb drivers.

One trick is to disable one by one the usb Hubs / controllers in the “Devices Manager” . If you find the one in question, You device will be detected with in a few seconds & installed… One know side i have seen is the deviced being used as a usb 1.0….

If you install the printer on another computer & it works fine then this will be more then likely the path to go down.

A windows restore should’nt need to go back further then the just before the problem first happend, You can try using the windows cd and using the “r” repair option **NOT The Recovery Console**

  • Make sure the printer is on. If that doesn’t help call the manufacturer’s help line.
  • check both ends of the usb cord specially the one in your printer, then the one in your computer. if you did all that
try installing your printer again, but first uninstalled the software and then installe it again.
if that does not work, there there is always windows restore. it should help.
if your problem started happening recently, you should be able to just re store your computer to a previous setting.
all programs, accessories, system tools, and system restore. and choose a date at least two days before your problem started happening.

Canon Printer Tips – Cannon MP470 vs MP520 – which uses cheaper ink?

November 28th, 2009 No comments

I need to pick up an inkjet for color prints and am trying to decide between Cannon MP470 and MP520. The 520 uses separate C/M/Y cartridges that are $15 each = $45 for all three. The 470 uses an all in one cartridge that costs between $25 and $35, depending on the capacity. However, I assume you replace the whole cartridge when one color runs out.

Are separate C/M/Y cartridges cheaper in the long run than an all in one color cartridge or vice versa? Any thoughts on printer ink appreciated.

Best Answer: I have cancon mp-780, with 6 cartridges I buy the ink from the supermarket for $22.00 and I get 2 fills out of them and have not brought any cartridges for 2y. The ink is ok I’ve not had any problem with it and I do lot of printing

The magenta has ran out, but I’m not printing in color, I’m printing with black ink and the black ink is full but since there is no magenta it won’t print. How do I change the settings or something to make it print? I dont need to print in color nor do I want to, I need to print in black.

Best Answer: you need to replace magenta ink.
printer will not work with empty ink.

      • They wont print without every cartridge filled.
      • Unless you remove the low ink level cartridge.
