I previously bought stack of Canon Photo Plus paper, thinking it’s just as good as Photo “Pro” paper.
I was wrong. If you look at the skin tone, Plus paper is little off and it is very annoying. Caucation will have pinkish skin tone, east asian will have greenish skin tone on “Plus” paper. unlike this “Pro” paper, which is accurate just like shown on the computer monitor.
Don’t compromise on paper to save few cents. Make it worthwhile for spending Hundreds dollar on camera and printer.
After all, it’s the printed paper that gets the most exposure to friends and family.

I print many photos. I have been using Canon printers for this job for 2 years now. I have tried other papers with the printers and most do a okay job. But I do notice a difference in quaility when closely looked at with the Canon Pro paper. I print a lot of 8 X 10″s. And the Canon Pro Glossy just really jumps out at you. If you were going to print a bunch of wallet size photos you can probably save a couple cents by using the cheaper no name paper. I have even scanned a bunch of B&W snapshots that my father took during WWII and enlarged them and printed them on the Canon paper. They all looked great.

I tested my new Canon i960 with a variety of papers. Like most printers, the output is much better when using the manufacture’s own paper (as opposed to the cheaper generic paper), but there is no need to buy the most expensive “Pro” paper as neither I nor my wife could discern ANY difference between the two. There may be a benifit to the “Pro” paper that cannot be seen (lasts longer?) but at almost twice the cost it is not worth it – this paper will produce the highest quality prints on your Canon printer (I think they look better than the ones I get from the photo lab).

I have always used Epson perforated 4″x6″ photo paper to print photographs, but since I just got the Canon S9000 printer and started using the Canon Photo Paper Pro 4″x6″ borderless – I’ve been amazed. Compared to Epson’s paper, the Canon is the closest film developed on paper! The Canon paper is smooth, shiny and the colors are vivid. Without the perforations, the paper looks like it’s developed professionally. Every package comes wrapped in a clear plastic sealed bag, and inside are the 20 sheets of photo paper along with a soft tissue paper to protect the first sheet, and a hard cardboard on the back to keep the photos nice and flat.
The only problem is that the surface of the Canon Photo Paper Pro is that it’s easily to scratch when rubbing against other paper or your fingernail. It’s not too noticable unless you look at it in an angle in the light.
But overall, it’s the best paper for 4″x6″ photos you want to print yourself! Great quality from Canon, I’m not buying Epson paper again.
