Canon Printer Tips – How do I network a printer wireless-ly?

January 12th, 2010 No comments

I HAVE A “2WIRE” WIRELESS MODEM CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET & A TOWER COMPUTER SYSTEM WITH A “CANNON MP-500″ PRINTER ATTACHED TO THIS COMPUTER.
I WANT TO SHARE THIS PRINTER WITH EITHER OF MY TWO LAP TOPS WITHOUT RUNNING WIRES, OR MOOVING EACH LAPTOP TO THE PRINTER WHENEVER I NEED TO PRINT A PAGE.
I HAVE ALREADY RAN THE NETWORK SET UP WIZZARD ON EACH CONPUTER, BUT STILL CANNOT PRINT FROM EITHER WIRELESS LAPTOP.
HOW DO I MAKE IT HAPPEN?

Best Answer: Go to the printer (Start/Control Panel/Printers and Faxes. Right-click on that printer and click on Properties. Go to the Sharing tab and share the printer.

On the laptop, add a new printer. A network printer. Browse. Select the printer on the desktop that you just shared.

    January 8th, 2010 No comments

Can anyone recommend a good CD labeler for Macs? I have OS 10.3.9 and a Cannon MP600 printer. Basically, I just want to take my photos and be able to stick them on custum CD’s.

Seems like a lot of products out there are not Mac supported.
    thanks

Best Answer: You can get a few here under Disk Labelers.

Canon Printer Tips – I hav bought cannon mp 145 model printer?

      November 1st, 2009 No comments

is it worth??? and can i be able to copy pages without connecting it to my pc??? anyone here using this model?? give me some ideas..

      Best Answer: Hi Mike,

You can’t go wireless with this printer…sorry dude! You have to be connected to it. Other than that, it’s a good printer for a low price. It is slower than a lot of other printers by about an average of 5 pages a minute for printing. Overall, a good all in one printer. You may want to keep the install CD in a place where you can find it because these drivers mysteriously disappear and you’ll need to reinstall them.

      Good day :)

Canon Printer Tips – Printer problem My cannon s330 printer black stopped printing, color works fine, yes i changed cartridge?

        October 5th, 2009 No comments

Don’t know if I should buy another printer or is there some other simple solution.

Best Answer: Try cleaning the electrical (brass) contacts where the black cartridge plugs into the printer with a Q-tip and some alcohol before giving up. This will **usually** solve the problem.

It doesn’t hurt to do this before any cartridge swap. And – unplug the printer, first (from the wall).

Black usually cruds up quickest because it is the most used….

        • Get a new printer. The nozzle or cartridge feed mechanism is probably choked.
        • throw the old printer and buy a new one!

sometimes repairs are more costly than buying a new one

Canon Printer Tips – Does a printer that has a USB 2.0 port connects to ethernet through a USB-Ethernet converter?

        September 30th, 2009 No comments

I brought a Cannon printer that has a USB 2.0 port. I would like to connect it to my home (wireless) ethernet through a USB 2.0 to Ethernet converter, so I may be able to print documents elsewhere.

Best Answer: Yes its possible. Try to check Wireless Print Server from Linksys.

Try to check Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-WPS54GU2-W…

        Or check Linksys Directly: http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite…

        • connect the usb printer to a computer that is connected to the network already.

i dont think that usb to ethernet conversion would work correctly if the printer does not have print server functionality or if your router does not have print server functionality and you dont wish to go out and buy such a router.

however i guess theres no harm in trying – i just dont think it would work.

        • the printer should work. the USB to ethernet converter should have a internal NIC which will have a MAC Address on it. if that is the case then you should have no problems printers. u may lose some features but printing will work properly,
        • I dont know how well that would work.

although, you could hook you printer directly up to your router (most have usb ports) if they are in the same room
