Canon Printer Tips – Why won’t my Microsoft Word print out a horizontal line?

January 24th, 2010 No comments

I have MS Office 2000, and a cannon I560. I have tried opening all the config boxes for the printer, but haven’t found the solution. I created a letter with a horizonatal line separating the heading from the body. My printer just puts a space where the line should be.

Best Answer: Mine normally prints the line all the time.

Try a different program such as notepad, make a line, print it…if that works we know it is your Microsoft World. If it doesnt work, it is your printer.

If it is your Microsoft word, uninstall and then reinstall with either the original CD or by download the 2003 trial through the windows website.

If it is your printer, unhook and rehook all the cords and connecters, uninstall the printer from your computer, add the printer again. If still having troubles, call the company of the printer and ask for live help.

Canon Printer Tips – Are people becoming more used to Vista?

    January 16th, 2010 No comments

I currently have a PC with XP pro and a newer faster Phenom quad core with Vista 64 Ultimate.

Initially I hated Vista 64 for the weird way it operated (Compared to XP anyway) and the fact that it did crash quite a lot due to incompatibilities with my BIOS and some programs and especially my beloved HP1500c Laser printer and Cannon scanner. This is now resolved with a recent ASUS BIOS update which was their problem not Vista’s and it is now my preferred Operating System.

I have played with Windows 7 and frankly I am NOT impressed I long that will take to convert me to it’s advantages?

Best Answer: vista was just a test bed for windows 7 which will be renamed upon its official launch

    Vista is total crap.

just remember the windows 7 you played with is just a Beta version it is not the final result

    • Speaking for all people everywhere . . .

No, that task is too grand. So, speaking for one person somewhere, I have played with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition. Frankly, I am not impressed.

It’s just another operating system from a software reseller.

    • I think Vista is a flop.

Most of people I know had reverted from Vista back to XP.

    • ok. vista sucked when it first came out but since then they have worked out the bugs so go forth into that new OS i say.
    • I love it

Canon Printer Tips – Having printer problems?

    January 13th, 2010 No comments

My printer isn’t printing. I had my black ink cartridge filled a few month ago at Island inkjet. My coulour ink has been slowly running out of ink but I figured since I don’t print much couloured stuff why replace it

My printer is a cannon Multipass mp370. It is now about a year old. I have so far have had little problem with it

Is this just an ink issue or something else. Would there be anything else that needs to be replaced. Also maybe it isn’t a good idea to refill cartidges

    Any suggestions or ideas?
    thanks

Best Answer: I would take the black cartridge back to who refilled it and have them check to see if it is clogged. If it is plugged up, they should have the special cleaners to get it printing.
If they don’t offer that service, you can blot the bottom of the cartridge on a damp paper towel. If that doesn’t fix it, hold the bottom of the cartridge (where the ink comes out) under hot running water for a few minutes.
    Good luck.

    • Hi,

Simply go to the control panel>printers & faxes in there delete the driver for your printer and reinstall your printer driver either from its CD or the list of the printers in windows (in case included)

      That’ll most probably do it

      Hope it helps

    • If the printer performs like normal, but just does not print, I mean like the print head moves back and fourth and the paper feeds through the printer normally.
It just almost positively the ink cartridges. Ink cartridges dry up if you don’t use them very often, and especially so if your printer is setup where there is quite a bit of heat.
It does not hurt anything to have printer cartridges refilled, and Island Inkjet does a very good job, I have many filled there, when I don’t feel like filling them myself.
    • You need to have the printer clean the cartridge. I think you do this by going to the Control Panel and clicking on Printers and then clicking on the printer. If you look around, you should see something to clean the cartridge head. You might have to print a test page there, and that may lead to the page to clean the head.
    • It is depends what kind of problem exactly you facing. but one reason can be possible that is nozzle blocking of a cartridge check that if is it so refill cartridge

Canon Printer Tips – My printer will not use its blk ink and its brand new ink?

    December 29th, 2009 No comments

    i have a cannon i550 printer

Best Answer: Most new ink cartridges have a piece of tape over the printhead openings to prevent drying out during shipment and storage. Many people forget to remover this tape. Check to be sure the tape is removed and the cartridge is properly seated in its snap-in carriage.

(BTW, if you’re using a refilled ink cartridge rather than a manufacturer’s new one, then you could have substandard ink clogging the tiny nozzles and will need a new cartridge)

    • Do you get any error messages? If so what do they say? You could have a bad new ink cartridge that just won’t let the ink out. And if it is a re-fill and not a new one, that is a good possibility.

Canon Printer Tips – Photo printing?

    December 14th, 2009 No comments

just had a go at printing my photos off digital camera for first time, have a cannon printer, on A4 they did alright though not sure if i had proper setting on for type of paper, it said plain paper so went with that. got a bit confused with changing settings so any help appreciated, also have some small 6×4 photo paper but not sure if there ment for my printer or the proper photo printer as that is smaller in size. a novice as you can tell but willing to learn, another problem ive had is when my daughter tried to print her cv it missed top of words off and double printed on certain lines? so again if any one can guide me through what i need to do , thanks in advance.

Best Answer: the answer is… TRIAL AND ERROR.
there’s no easy way to print on paper smaller than 8.5×11.

NOTE that it’s CHEAPER, CLEARER and MORE DURABLE to just have it printed by a digital photo developer.
